AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 16 -9 OF CHAPTER 16
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 16 -9 entitled "Plumbing, remodeling,
ONE: replacement, fixtures; compliance" of Chapter 16 of
the Municipal Code of the Villaae of Deerfield of 1975,
as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting said
section and substituting,in lieu thereof the following:
"Section 16 -9. Plumbing; remodeling,
replacement, fixtures; compliance.
Whenever plumbing is remodeled or replaced
or additional fixtures installed, the
remodeled plumbing system shall conform with
this Code. Without limitation of the fore-
going, to the extent that such remodeling
shall include the installation of a power -
assisted.flood control system, all storm
water connections to the sanitary sewer
system of the Village shall be permanently
disconnected. Such connections shall
include, but not be limited to, sump pumps,
gravity footing drains, and /or downspouts.
A power- assisted flood control system shall
be deemed to be an apparatus to discharge
sewerage at high capacity and pressure
through a valve system into the public
sanitary sewer."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
TWO: this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
THREE: from and after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law.
