AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 23 -20
AND 23 -22 OF ARTICLE 3 OF CHAPTER 23 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 23 -20 "Bills for water; due date for payments;
ONE: additional penalty," of Article 3 of Chapter 23 of the Municipal
Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the
same is further hereby amended by adding the following sentence at the conclu-
sion of the first paragraph thereof:
In any instance where the user of water service is
not the owner of the premises, the owner of the
premises shall nevertheless be liable for payment in
full of any water bills, plus any penalties for late
payments as described below, in the event that full
payment of any water bill is not made by the user of
said service."
SECTION That Section 23- 22,,� "Lien; notice of delinquency" of Article 3
TWO: of Chapter 23 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield
of 1975, as amended, be and the same is further amended by adding
the following sentences at the conclusion of the second paragraph thereof:
"Said owner of the premises shall be liable for payment
in full of said water bill, plus any penalties for
late payment. Water service will be terminated until
payment of said delinquent bill is made in full."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this
THREE: Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
FOUR: are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
FIVE: after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
