AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18 -20 OF CHAPTER 18 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 18 -20 "Rates of fare" of Chapter 18 of the Municipal
ONE: Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended by deleting said Section in its
entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"Sec. 18 -20. Rates of fare.
For the first 1 /10 mile or fraction
thereof, for one person . . . . .
For each succeeding 1 /10 mile or
fraction thereof . . . . . . . . . . . . .
For each additional passenger
(excluding children under 12 years
of age) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Waiting time . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Waiting time shall include the time when
the taxicab is not in motion, beginning
with the arrival at the place to which it
has been called, or the time consumed while,
standing at the direction of the passenger,
but no charge shall be made for time lost
for inefficiency of the taxicab or its
operator, or time consumed by premature
response to a call."

SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this
TWO: Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
THREE: are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
FOUR: after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
