R-79-13A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO A TEXT AMENDMENT TO
THE LAKE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Committee of the Lake County Board has
directed the Zoning Board of Appeals of the County of Lake to consider a text
amendment to the Lake County Zoning Ordinance to provide for a conditional use
permit for employee cafeterias, restaurants and cocktail lounges; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals has conducted an initial
hearing and has scheduled additional public hearing(s) on said application; and
WHEREAS, the proposed text amendment would affect all areas of unincorpor-
ated Lake County lying adjacent to and within one -and- one -half miles of the
corporate limits of the Village of Deerfield, a zoned municipality; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield
are of the opinion that the granting of said application would be contrary to
the best interest of the Village of Deerfield and of the community, generally
in that the text amendment could result in the granting of conditional use
permits for property without regard to the character of and compatibility of
surrounding or nearby properties, particularly the substantial residentially
zoned and used areas of the Village of Deerfield and would attract the traf-
fic, noise, congestion and other accompanying undesirable features of such
land uses,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the Village of Deerfield, pursuant to Chapter 34, Section
ONE: 3158, Illinois Revised Statutes 1977, hereby protests and objects
to the granting of the application of the Planning and Zoning
Committee of the Lake County Board for the text amendment therein described.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified
TWO: copy of this Resolution to the Lake County Zoning Board of
Appeals, the Board of Supervisors of Lake County and the County
Clerk of Lake County.

and acting Village Clerk of the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook
Counties, Illinois, and that the attached is a true and correct copy
of a Resolution objecting to a text amendment to the Lake County
Zoning Ordinance to provide for a conditional use permit for employees
cafeterias, restaurants and cocktail lounges, which Resolution was
passed by the President and Board of Trustees of the said Village at
a regular meeting thereof on the 6th day of August, 1979, all as appears
on the records and files of my office.
