AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 4, CHAPTER 2 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF • TRUSTEES OF' THE VILLAGE OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Article 4 of Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code.of the Village
ONE: of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, entitled "Village Clerk ", be
and the same is further amended by repealing said Article 4 in
its entirety.
SECTION That the following Article 4 is hereby substituted in lieu there -
TWO: of as follows:
Article 4. Village Clerk
"Section 2 -50. Appointment of village clerk; term
The Office of Village Clerk is hereby established.
The Village Clerk shall be appointed by the President
with advice and consent of the Board of Trustees to
serve until resignation or removal.
Section 2 -51. General duties of the village clerk;
compensation
The Village Clerk shall perform such duties as may be
prescribed by statute, by this Code or by Ordinance.
The compensation of the Village Clerk shall be deter-
mined from time to time by ordinance. The Village
Clerk shall receive an annual salary of $5,200 until
amended by ordinance.
Section 2 -52. Vacancy
In the event that the office of Village Clerk shall
become vacant for any reason, the President and Board
of Trustees shall thereafter appoint a successor as
provided herein.
Section 2 -53. Deputy village clerk(s)
The President and Board of Trustees may appoint from
time to time one or more Deputy Village Clerk (s) who,
in the absence or unavailability of the Village Clerk,
shall perform all of the duties of that office."
SECTION •That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
THREE: are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed
