WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Deerfield have directed
the establishment of angle parking spaces along the east side of Chestnut Street
between Greenwood Avenue and North Avenue; and
WHEREAS, said parking spaces were established in anticipation of loss of
existing commuter parking facilities during the completion of Phase II of the
commuter parking lot improvement program and the increase of commuter train
traffic due to the construction of improvements on Edens Highway; and
WHEREAS, the desire of the corporate authorities remains to provide adequate
commuter parking with a minimum of inconvenience to the residents of the Village
of Deerfield,
NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the corporate authorities hereby express their present
ONE: intention to remove the provisions for angle parking on
Chestnut Street described above upon the completion of Phase II
of the commuter parking lot improvement program, and completion of the Edens
Highway improvement construction project in the event that following completion
of said the existing commuter parking facilities are sufficient to satisfy
existing needs.
SECTION That at such times as a significant number of the Chestnut Street
TWO: parking spaces are being used, the corporate authorities shall
request the Safety Commission of the Village of Deerfield, the
Police Department and the Deerfield - Bannockburn Fire Protection District, to
examine the operation of said parking facilities, and the impact on neighboring
areas and to report said findings to the corporate authorities.
