AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING A VILLAGE MANAGER
AND ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION
WHEREAS, NORRIS W. STILPHEN has announced his intention to retire from the
office of Village Manager of the Village of Deerfield as of October 5, 1979;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2 -64 of the Municipal Code of the Village of
Deerfield of 1975, as amended, it is required that the President of the
Village of Deerfield appoint a new Village Manager with the advice and consent
of the Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, the President and the Board of Trustees have deemed it desirable
that the new Village Manager be employed by the Village of Deerfield for a
period of time prior to assuming the duties of the Village Manager,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Robert Franz by and is hereby appointed Village Manager
ONE: of the Village of Deerfield pursuant to said Section 2 -64 of the
Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield, effective as of October 6, 1979.
SECTION That prior. to the effective date of said appointment, Robert
TWO: Franz shall be employed by the Village of Deerfield commencing
August 27, 1979 and shall serve as "Manager Designate" from and after his time
of employment until October 6, 1979.
SECTION That Ordinance No. 79 -29 be amended effective October 6, 1979
THREE: to provide that the Village Manager's salary from that date
through April 30, 1980 shall be $35,000 per annum.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
FOUR: after its passage as provided by law.
