WHEREAS, the Village is the owner of certain properties within the Village
of Deerfield described on Exhibit A• hereto, and said properties are not within
the boundaries of the Deerfield Park District; and
WHEREAS, said territory is not within the corporate limits of any park
district, but is contiguous to the Deerfield Park District; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities have deemed it desirable that, where
possible, any territory within the Village of Deerfield be included within
the territory of the Deerfield Park District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the Mayor and Village Clerk are hereby empowered and
ONE: directed to execute the attached Petition for Annexation
requesting that the territory described therein be annexed
to the Deerfield Park District in the manner provided by law.
SECTION That the Village Clerk be directed to forward a true and
TWO: correct copy of the Resolution to the President of the
Deerfield Park District.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
FOR DELIVERY OF BUS SERVICE
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield (VILLAGE) desires to establish
intra - VILLAGE bus service under a demonstration grant from the Urban
Mass Transportation Administration (UMTA) and the Regional Transportation
Authority (RTA), and
WHEREAS, North Suburban Mass Transit District (NORTRAN) has agreed
to provide the transportation service desired by the Village,
NOW, THEREFORE, District and Village enter into this memorandum of
understanding and agree as follows:
1. Service shall consist of local feeder bus service during rush
hours; and demand activated bus service on semi -fixed routes during the
mid -day.
2. Schedules, routes, fare structure, transfer privileges and
restrictions, student and elderly reduced fares and other service - related
matters, shall be agreed upon from time to time by Village and District.
3. Village agrees to pay the District at the rate of $12.13 per bus
hour of operation. The hourly rate is subject to change based upon
changes in the District's cost of operation.
4. Village and District agree that the bus operations provided for
herein shall continue during the term of the demonstration grant or until
terminated by notice given by either District or Village.
5. District agrees to assist and cooperate with Village in any
application made by Village to UMTA or RTA for a demonstration grant that
would be used to reimburse the cost of operation incurred in providing
ol
'bus service to the Village.
6. District and Village understand and agree that this memorandum
of understanding is subject to and shall take effect upon approval of, .
and subject to the terms of, a demonstration grant by UMTA and RTA and
further agree to execute documents and contracts which may be required
by UMTA and RTA.
7. The RTA will provide buses and other equipment necessary to
operate the local bus system.

the Village of Deerfield by their duly authorized officials affix their
signatures hereon on the 26th day of January, 1977.
