Mw I �• ' ORDINANCE NO. 0 -77- 20 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2.102 AND 2.105 OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF DEERFIELD BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION That Sections 2.102 and 2.105 of Chapter 2 of the Munici- ONE: pal Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the same are hereby further amended by striking said Sections in their entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "2.102. Establishment of Police Department; personnel. (a) There is hereby created a Police Department, an adminis- trative department of the Village. (b) The Police Department shall consist of the Chief of Police, who shall be ex officio Village Marshal, two (2) Lieutenants, six (6) Sergeants, twenty -four (24) Patrolmen, and such other employees as may be provided for from time to time by the President and Board of Trustees. The Chief of Police may appoint one of the aforementioned Department members Deputy Chief in the manner provided in Section 2.105. 2.105. Appointments and promotions. Appointments to and promotions within the Police Department, other than to the office of Chief of Police and Deputy Chief shall be made by the Board of Police Commissioners in the manner provided by statute. The Chief of Police may, from.time to time, appoint a member of the Police Department to serve as Deputy Chief. The Chief of Police shall have the right to remove any such member so appointed to the position of Deputy Chief and thereafter said member shall retain the rank held prior to appointment as Deputy Chief." SECTION That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here - TWO: with are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this THREE: ordinance in pamphlet form. SECTION That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from FOUR: and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
