AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9.205 OF CHAPTER 9
(SUBDIVISIONS) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have determined that the installation of
sidewalk ramps will assist both sidewalk bicycle traffic and the use of Village
sidewalks by handicapped persons and said corporate authorities desire to amend
the sidewalk specifications in the Subdivision Ordinance to meet this objective,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1963, as amended,
ONE: be and the same is hereby further amended by adding to said
Section 9.205 the following:
except that all sidewalks intersecting Village streets shall
include a sidewalk ramp measuring three (3) feet in width at the
sidewalk intersection with said street, all in conformity with
specifications therefor maintained by the Village of Deerfield
Department of Building and Zoning."
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
TWO: are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this
THREE: ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
FOUR: and after is passage, approval and publication as provided
by law.
