AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 18
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE
OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Article IV of Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code
ONE: of the Village of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, is
hereby further amended by adding a new'Section 18.413B
as follows:
"18.413B VENTILATION.)
Every range or other heat producing appliance where food
is cooked in any restaurant. kitchen or food establish-
ment, or where from any cause grease or other flammable
substances are produced, shall be provided with a non-
combustible hood or curtain wall enclosure. Every such
hood or curtain wall enclosure shall be connected by an
independent duct or other suitable means to a mechanical
ventilating exhaust system which shall discharge, inde-
pendently, above the roof, or by a flue connection to a
chimney which shall take off all smoke, gases and vapors."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this

SECTION That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from

by law.
