RESOLUTION NO. R -74- 6
WHEREAS, the Local Flood Control Steering Committee of Cook and
Lake Counties for the North Branch of the Chicago River have completed
an Implementation Plan for Floodwater Management, and
WHEREAS, the said Plan will provide for the orderly and comprehensive
development of a system of floodwater retention basins and will further
provide for the management of floodplains, the control of, erosion, the
protection of floodways, the maintenance of the stream channel, the enhance-
ment of water quality, the preservation of wildlife, and provide further
recreation and open space,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES of the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties,
Illinois:
1. That the Implementation Plan for the North Branch of the Chicago
River, as prepared for the Local Flood Control Steering Committees
of Lake and Cook Counties by the Soil Conservation Service of the
United States Department of Agriculture, be and the same is hereby
approved.
2. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the co- chairmen of the
said Steering Committees, to the Metropolitan Sanitary District of
Greater Chicago, the Soil Conservation Service, the Governor's
Task Force on Flood Control, and other interested persons.
RESOLVED THIS 29th day of April , A.D. 1974.
