R-74-07RESOLUTION NO. R -74- 7 WHEREAS, it is provided by law through the adoption and passing of Senate Bill #138, 1973, that Counties other than Cook in the State of Illinois may adopt a resolution to establish March 1st for the First Installment penalty date and August 1st for the Second Installment penalty date for real property taxes, and WHEREAS, it is the County Board which must take action prior to September 15th of any year to implement this accelerated payment schedule, and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of financing the Village of--Deerfield, :Illinois, to have Senate Bill #138 implemented in Lake County, and WHEREAS, such implementation would provide approximately one -half of the tax extension for this municipality, such sum being $379,117.31, the sum in 1972, the last known assessed valuation and tax rate, at least three and possibly more months earlier than without any implementation of Senate Bill #138, and further that this accelerated payment schedule could greatly reduce the amount of interest paid on tax anticipation warrants or increase the amount of interest gained on possible invested capital, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES of the Village of Deerfield, Illinois, to request the County Board of Lake County to take the necessary action prior to September 15, 1974, to implement Senate Bill #138 in Lake County. ADOPTED: This ?9.th' day of April , 1974, by roll call vote, as follows: AYE: Gavin, Kelm, Moses, Neuman (4) NAY: Stiehr (1) ABSENT: None (0) Village Clerk 1Y RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Wednesday, August 28, 1974, is again being proclaimed as Lake County Senior Citizen Recognition Day; and WHEREAS, the Senior Citizens of Lake County have graciously contributed many years of diligent application of energy and proficiency toward the effective enhancement of the County, State, and National Spiritual, Health, Cultural and Economic welfare to the benefit of the present, as well as future generations; and WHEREAS, these Senior Citizens have given unselfishly of their time, knowledge and financial resources to the preservation of Lake' County's many attributes, to ensure that others:; to follow may enjoy the fruits of their efforts; and WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield desires to express gratitude to these Senior Citizens for their past and continued accomplishments on behalf of their fellow Lake County citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, be it Resolved by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield that, in recognition of the Senior Citizen's contri- butions to the Village of Deerfield, Lake County, the State and the Nation, Wednesday, August 28, 1974, be ordained and proclaimed as Senior Citizen Recognition Day, and that all citizens of Deerfield be and are hereby enjoined to honor and extend gratitude to Senior Citizens for their many endeavors, through thoughtful acclamation of their dee &nd e ndance at planned festivities.
