WHEREAS, a motion of summary judgment has been filed by the State's
Attorney of Lake County in the Court of Judge Strauss to establish the assessed
valuation of property in Lake County at less than 50 per cent of a full and
fair cash value; and
WHEREAS, the potential loss to the Village of Deerfield is approximately
$18,000 which is needed to provide essential services to the community:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois, that:
The Village of Deerfield joins with other Lake County taxing bodies
to petition to intervene in said suit, and to direct the Department of Local
Government Affairs to establish a multiplier which will assess property in
Lake County at 50 per cent of a full and fair cash value, as required by
Statute.

RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A WAIVER `
ON THE PART OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
WHEREAS, the Illinois Law Enforcement Commission is prepared to -,
award grants to ILEC designated grantees in the amount totalling- $320,478
in Federal funds for the evaluation of ILEC funded programs for Metro-
politan areas outside of Chicago -Cook County in the State of Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield has
determined these grants are being undertaken for the beneift of said Village:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of
the Village of Deerfield does hereby provide a waiver to ILEC to provide for
the purposes as set forth above and agrees to act a co- applicant for the said
application, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the awarding of these grants to
ILEC designated grantees does not reduce in any way the funds available to
said Village of Deerfield that might be awarded for other programs upon
application to the Illinois Law Enforcement Commission for action grant
programs.
