R-73-03RESOLUTION NO. R -73- 3 A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF UNION DRAINAGE DISTRICT NO. 1 WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield have been advised that Union Drainage District No. 1, a drainage district embracing parts of the Village of Deerfield, is taking legal action to complete its maintenance assessment and special assessment; and WHEREAS, the area of the Village of Deerfield involved in the Union Drainage District No. 1 has been subject to frequent flooding during periods of heavy rainfall; and WHEREAS, the maintenance, cleaning and improvement of the Union Drainage District No. 1 drainage ditch is essential in order to control storm water flooding within portions of the Village of Deerfield; and WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield has supported the efforts of Union Drainage District No. 1 in attempting to solve drainage problems shared by it and the Village of Deerfield and said Village wishes to declare its continued support and appreciation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION That the Village of Dei ONE: support of the current maintenance assessment proceedings. THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, :rfield hereby declares its Union Drainage District No. 1 and special assessment SECTION That the Village of Deerfield commends the Union TWO: Drainage District, No. 1 in its continuing efforts in attempting to resolve flooding and drainage problems within the Village of Deerfield by the proper maintenance and improvement of its facilities within the Village of Deerfield. f SECTION That the Village of Deerfield expresses its THREE: desire that Union Drainage District No. 1 continue to perform its prior functions and expand its operations to the extent financially possible in order to assist in its flood control program. SECTION That Village officials and administrative staff be FOUR: directed and authorized to cooperate wherever possible to assist the Union Drainage District No. 1 in successfully completing the aforementioned assessments and achieving its operational goals.
