R-22-67VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD RESOLUTION NO. 2022- R-22-67 A RESOLUTION WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A FORD F150 LIGHTNING FROM HIGHLAND PARK FORD WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield ("Village's is a home rule municipality in accordance with Article VII, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970; and WHEREAS, the Village Public Works Department identified a need to purchase a Ford F150 Lightning ("Ford Lightning') to replace a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan; and WHEREAS, the Village desires to purchase a Ford Lightning manufactured by Ford because the it will help the Village meet its goals under its Go Green initiative by decreasing fuel emissions; and WHEREAS, Village Public Works Department obtained a proposal from Highland Park Ford ("Contractor's of Highland Park, Illinois, as pricing for fleet orders does not change between dealerships; and WHEREAS, the Village Board has determined that it is in the best interest of the Village to waive competitive bidding and approve the purchase of the Ford Lightning from Contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: RECITALS. The Village Board hereby adopts the foregoing recitals as its findings, as if fully set forth herein. SECTION 2: WAIVER OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING. Pursuant to its home rule authority, the. Village Board hereby waives the advertising and bidding requirements for the purchase of the Ford Lightninc,. SECTION 3: APPROVAL OF PURCHASE. Pursuant to its home rule authority, the Village Board hereby approves a purchase of the Ford Lightning from Contractor for a price not to exceed $57,150.00 pursuant to a purchase order to be approved by the Village Manager. SECTION 4: AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE PURCHASE ORDER. The Village Board hereby authorizes and directs the Village President and Village Manager to execute and attest, on behalf of the Village, a purchase order upon receipt by the Village Clerk of at least one original copy of the purchase order executed by Contractor; provided, however, that if the executed copy of the purchase order is not received by the Village Clerk within 30 days after the effective date of this Resolution, then this Resolution will, at the option of the Village Board, be null and void. {00129294.1} SECTION 5: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
