RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING SETTLEMENT IN CASE OF
VILLAGE 'OF DEERFIELD v. MILDRED S.' PIPER '(71LN232)
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield has heretofore commenced
a proceeding entitled, Village `of- 'Deerfield v. Mildred, S". Piper,
(71LN232) in the Circuit Court of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit,
to recover damages for the destruction and damage to certain Village
property; and
WHEREAS, the Village Attorney has recommended, based upon the
facts of the'case and the law applicable thereto, that the matter
be settled by the acceptance by the Village'of the payment of
Four Thousand Four Hundred Fifty and 77/100 ($4,450.77) Dollars by
the Defendant in full satisfaction of the Village's claim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
as follows:
1. That the settlement of the case entitled ,, Vi1 *lage of
Deerfield v. Mildred S'. Piper (71LN232) filed in the Circuit .Court
of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit, to be effected by the payment
by the Defendant to the Village of the sum of Four Thousand Four
Hundred Fifty and 77/100 ($4,450.77) Dollars be and th-d same is
hereby approved.
2. That the Village President and Village Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute on behalf of the Village in connection with the
aforesaid settlement a release of claims, a*copy of which release is
attached hereto and made a part hereof, and the Village Attorney is
authorized and directed to deliver said executed release upon the
payment of the'aforesaid sum.
