AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 0 -64 -21
BEING AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A'COMMISSION
ON HUMAN RELATIONS FOR THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Paragraph 1 of Section One of Ordinance No. 0 -64 -21 be
ONE: and the same is hereby amended by adding the word "age"
between the words, "to" and "race" in the fourth (4th) line thereof.
SECTION That Paragraph 1 of Section Four be amended by striking the
TWO: word "solely" in the first (lst) sentence thereof, and
striking the second (2nd) sentence in its entirety.
SECTION That Section Four, a, be amended by adding the words, "all
THREE: ages',:' between the words, "among" and "racial" in the second
(2nd) line thereof.
SECTION That Section Four be further amended by adding a new subsection
FOUR: e as follows:
"e. Initiate and conduct any educational or informational programs
which it believes will further the purpose and objectives of this
Commission."
SECTION That Section Four be further amended by adding a new subsection
FIVE: f as follows:
"f. To enlist the assistance of schools, religious bodies, service
organizations and civic groups in promoting understanding, good will
and community harmony."
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here -
SIX: with are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
SEVEN: and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
