AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.001
OF CHAPTER 7 'OF' :THE MUNICIPAL CODE 'OF :DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS
SECTION That Section 7.001 of Chapter 7 of the Municipal
ONE: Code of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended by striking said Section in its entirety
and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"7.001 Creation of Department.) There is hereby
created a Police Department, an executive depart-
ment of the Village. The Police Department shall
consist of the Chief of Police, who shall be ex
officio Village Marshal, two (2) Lieutenants,
five (5) Sergeants, twenty -four (24) Patrolmen,
and such other employees as may be provided for
from time to time by the President and Board of
Trustees."
SECTION That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in
TWO: conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict,
hereby repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
THREE: this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
'SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
FOUR: from and after its passage, approval and publication,
as provideaB—y law.
