AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5.104(d) OF
CHAPTER 5 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 5.104(d) of Chapter 5 of the Municipal
ONE: Code of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended by striking said Section in its entirety
and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"5.104(d) Appoint, suspend or remove all employees
of the village. Such appointjipent,;;yssus-
pensions or removals shall be based upon the
merit and fitness of such employee, without
regard to political belief or affiliation
and without regard to such employees' or
prospective employees' race, color, religion,
sex, national origin or ancestry."
