AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code of Deerfield
ONE: of 1963, as amended, be and the same is hereby
further amended by adding a new Article III as follows:
"Article III. Professional Youth Worker
"7.301 Appointment - Function.)
The Village Manager, upon consultation with the
O o ice, is authorized to appoint a person
� to the position of Professional Youth Worker whose
V00(/ functions and responsibilities shall be to identify
the youth problems in the Village and to develop,
implement, coordinate, and maintain innovative,.
positive programs to solve these problems and who
shall seek to accomplish these responsibilities by
appropriate means and procedures including by
research, education and training, by encouraging
the advice, cooperation and support of all civic,
"social and religious organizations and the educa-
tional and governmental institutions which serve
the youth of the Village.
"7.302 Supervision by Chief of Police.)
The Chief of Police shall supervise and direct the
activities of the Professional Youth Worker toward
the fulfillment of his duties as hereinabove speci-
fied provided that the Professional Youth Worker shall
not be deemed to be a member of the Police Department."
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
