AN ORDINANCE TO SELL REAL ESTATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the Board of Trustees of the Village of
ONE: Deerfield is of the opinion and finds that the
real estate hereinafter described as:
Commencing at the Northeast corner of Lot 7 in
Block 2 in H.O. Stone & Co.'s addition to Deerfield;
thence North at 90° to the South line of the
Northwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 28,
Township 43 North, Range 12 East of the Third Principal
Meridian to the center line of the West Skokie Drainage
Ditch; thence Southeasterly along the center line of
said Ditch to the South line of said quarter quarter
section; thence West along the South line of said
Northwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 to the point of
beginning, in Lake County, Illinois.
which real estate is vacant, is presently owned by the Village of
Deerfield and is presently unused, is no longer necessary, appropri-
ate, profitable to or required for the use of the Village of Deerfield,
and, therefore, it is in the best interests of this Village that
said property be offered for sale.
SECTION That the following Notice of the proposal to
TWO: sell said real estate shall be published once
each week for three (3) successive weeks in the Deerfield Life, a
weekly newspaper in general circulation in the Village of Deerfield,
the first publication thereof to be on November 25, 1971, the second
publication thereof to be on December 2, 1971,.and the third publi-
cation thereof to be on December 9, 1971, and the bids for said
real estate shall be opened at the regular meeting of the Board of
Trustees to be held on January 3, 1972, to -wit:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at the regular meeting of
the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Deerfield to be held on the 3rd day of January, 1972, bids
will be opened for the sale of the following described real
estate which is presently owned by the Village of Deerfield,
to -wit:
Commencing at the Northeast corner of Lot 7 in
Block 2 in H.O. Stone & Co.'s addition to
Deerfield; thence North at 90° to the South line
of the Northwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of
Section 28, Township 43 North, Range 12 East of
the Third Principal Meridian to the center line
of the West Skokie Drainage Ditch; thence
Southeasterly along the center line of said Ditch
to the South line of said quarter quarter section;
thence West along the South line of said Northwest
1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 to the point of beginning,
in Lake County, Illinois.
Said property is a vacant and unusually triangular shaped
parcel having an area of approximately .23 acres and is
located at the end of Woodvale Avenue adjoining the Middle
Fork of the North Branch of the Chicago River in the
Village of Deerfield.
Said sale will be made on the following terms, to -wit:
(a) Said real estate will be sold as a single
parcel.
(b) Seller agrees to convey all its right, title
.and interest in and to said real estate by
a duly executed Quit Claim Deed specifically
reserving any and all of its easement rights
therein.
(c) The successful bidder shall deposit a cashier's
check or certified check in the amount of Five
Hundred ($500.00) Dollars payable to the Village
of Deerfield to guarantee performance under the
bid, in the event the successful bidder's pro-
posal is accepted. If the successful bidder shall
default hereunder, then, at the option of the
Village of Deerfield, as Seller, said bid deposit
shall be forfeited as liquidated damages and the
sale as to such bidder shall be null and void.
(d) The Village of Deerfield, as seller, reserves the
right to accept or reject any or all bids.
Inquiries relative to the foregoing property shall
be directed to the Village Manager, Village Hall,
Deerfield, Illinois.
