RESOLUTION NO. R -72 -9
WHEREAS, the Environmental Protection Act of Illinois has been
nationally recognized as an innovative and effective law for the clean -
up of our State's environment; and
WHEREAS, broad and effective State powers are necessary to the
implementation of a healthful environment; and
WHEREAS, the public has shown its support forreffective planning
and financing for a healthful and aesthetic environment:
BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Deerfield supports the Illinois
Environmental Protection Act as enacted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village of Deerfield expresses its
opposition to the proposed resolution before the Illinois Municipal
League and asks the Municipal League's support of existing enforcement
powers of the Illinois Environmental Protection Act; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution of the
Village of Deerfield shall be sent to Mr. Thomas Ryan, Jr., President
of the Illinois Municipal League, Governor Richard B. Ogilvie and
membbrs of the Legislature of the State of Illinois.
