AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 24.212,
24.501 AND 24.817 OF CHAPTER 24 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 24.212 of Chapter 24 of the Municipal
ONE: Code of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended by adding to the designation of
"Nonmetallic piping" the following:
"Plastic pipe ASTM
Polyvinyl - Chloride (P.V.C.) D1785 -67A
Acryonitrile- Butadiene
Styrene (A.B.S.) D2751 -68
Polyethlene 2239 -67"
SECTION That Section 24.501 of Chapter 24 of the Municipal
TWO: Code of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, be and the
same is hereby further amended by deleting the first paragraph in
its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"24.501 Material and protection.) Every new main
or branch soil, waste and vent pipe within a
building shall be of cast iron, galvanized steel,
galvanized wrought iron, brass, duiron, copper or
of a plastic substance such as polyvinyl- chloride
or acryonitrile- butadiene styrene."
SECTION That Section 24.817 of Chapter 24 of the Municipal

same is hereby further amended by adding to the first paragraph thereof
the following:
" Polyethlene plastic pipe and fittings may be used
in lawn sprinkling systems and in swimming pool
installations only."
SECTION That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
FOUR: herewith, are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby
repealed.

That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
