AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18.403 OF ARTICLE
IV OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF DEERFIELD OF 1963, AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 18.403 of Article IV of Chapter 18
ONE: of the Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1963, as
amended, be and the same is hereby further
amended by striking said section in its entirety and sub-
stituting in lieu thereof the following:
18.403 Water courses and drainage systems.)
(a) It shall be unlawful and a nuisance for
any person, firm or corporation to obstruct or pollute
any water course or source of water supply in the
village.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm
or corporation to interfere with, divert or obstruct
any drainage ditches, swales, or natural drains in
such a manner as shall materially impede or inter-
fere with the flow of water,including interfering
with such ditches, swales and drains by changing
the grade thereof or of adjoining lands, provided
that the foregoing shall not prohibit the sewering
or piping of such drains if done pursuant to plans
approved by the village engineer.
SECTION That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in
TWO: conflict herewith, are, to the extent of such
conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
THREE publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.

SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
FOUR: effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication, as provided by law.
