AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE V
OF CHAPTER 20 OF THE'MUNICIPAL CODE
OF DEERFIELD OF 1963, AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Article V of Chapter 20 of the Municipal
ONE: Code of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, be and
the same is hereby further amended by adding
a new Section 20.517 as follows:
"20.517 Fire lanes.) It shall be unlawful for the
driver of a vehicle to park a vehicle or to leave a
vehicle unattended in any area designated by the
corporate authorities as a fire lane. Fire lanes
are established for the express purpose of providing
unrestricted access for emergency vehicles, and the
driver of any vehicle within a fire lane shall
immediately, upon becoming aware of the presence
of an emergency vehicle approaching or entering said
fire lane or upon the direction of a police officer,
remove such vehicle from said lane."
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
TWO: conflict herewith, shall, to the eltent of
such conflict, be hereby repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
THREE: publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and

publicatiog, as provided by law,
