AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Chapter 3, entitled "The Village Clerk ",
ONE: of the Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1963, as
amended, be and the same is hereby further
amended by adding two additional sections as follows:
3.013 The clerk shall maintain regular office
hours of not less than three hours duration on at
least three days of each week during his term of
office, at which times the clerk or deputy clerk
shall be present in the clerk's office in the Village
Hall for the purpose of conducting the business of
that office. The clerk shall forthwith, upon taking
office, establish the days of each week and the hours
of each of said days which shall constitute his regu-
lar office hours and give appropriate notice thereof
to the public. In the event one of the days established
by the clerk as one on which he maintains regular office
hours falls upon a legal holiday, the clerk shall select
another day in that week to maintain regular office
hours and give appropriate notice.thereof to the
public.
3.014 The clerk may appoint one person as deputy
clerk. The compensation of the deputy clerk shall be
as directed by the clerk, provided that the total
compensation paid the clerk and the deputy clerk in
the aggregate in one year shall not exceed the amount
of the annual salary of the village clerk as provided
by ordinance for such year.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and

as provided by law.
