AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11 . .
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE (F DEERFIELD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD# LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Chapter 11 of the Municipal Code of Deer-
ONE: field of 1963, as amended, is hereby further
amended by striking Section 11.115 thereof
in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
_ 11.115 Private use.) It shall be unlawful for
any person, firm or corporation to use any street,
sidewalk or other public way or place as space for
the display of.goods or merchandise except as herein-
after provided. The. Village Manager is empowered to
issue a.permit allowing the use of such streets,
sidewalks and public ways or places or portions
thereof as he shall designate, having due con-
sideration for public safety and convenience, for
display and sale of goods and merchandise upon
receipt of an application made therefor by not
less than a majority of all merchants doing busi-
ness within the Village. Said permit may be issued
only once in each calendar year and may permit the
above - described use of public streets, sidewalks
and public ways for a period not to exceed two
(2) consecutive days. Notwithstanding the fore-
going, it shall be unlawful in any event to write
or make any signs or advertisements on any such
pavements.
SECTION The Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
TWO: this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be'in full force
THREE: and effect from and after its passage and
approval and publication as provided by law.
