O-68-030 ORDINANCE NO. 68- 3 AN ORDINANCE CANVAS.S.ING THE. RESUL,TS..OF;, A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD JANUARY 13, 1968 WHEREAS, on the 13th day of January, 1968, a special election was held in and for the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois, for the purpose of voting on the question to authorize the Village of Deerfield to acquire certain lands for recreational purposes and issue bonds of the Village to the amount of $1,300,000 to pay the cost of such acquisition; and WHEREAS, said election was regularly called and held and notice of said election was given as required by by publication of the notice of said election in the Deerfield Review, being a secular newspaper published in and of general circulation through said Village of Deerfield, and that the judges of said election were duly qualified and, before enter- ing upon their duties, were duly commissioned as required by law, and that the returns of said election have been filed with the Clerk of the Village of Deerfield, and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield have examined and canvassed the returns of said election and are familiar therewith. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION That the Board of Trustees does find that ONE: the Special Election held on the 13th day of January, 1968, was duly called and held in all respects as provided by law, and as provided by the ordinance calling said election; that ballots were furnished in sufficient number at all times during said election and that the ballots used were in all respects as required by law; that the judges of said election were duly qualified and com- missioned and did conduct said election as required by law; that the returns of said election have been filed with the Village Clerk of the Village of Deerfield and are now before this Board of Trustees and have been examined by this Board of Trustees. ...'4 .- r SECTION That this Board of Trustees finds from the TWO: returns of said election that there were cast at said election votes on the proposi= tion as follows: Precinct Yes No. Inv..alid Total No. Votes 1 372 136 2 510 2 313 148 2 463 3 .33.6 13.2. .1 . ...469 4 268 228 1 497 1289 644 6 1939 SECTION That by reason of said vote, this Board of THREE: Trustees declares that the proposition to authorize the Village of Deerfield to acquire certain lands for recreational purposes and issue bonds of the Village in the amount of $1,300,000.00 to pay the cost of such acquisition having received a majority of affirmative votes, it is hereby declared that the proposition was carried affirmatively. SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force FOUR: and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
