AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE GRADING, PAVING,
DRAINING, AND OTHERWISE IMPROVING THE ROADWAY
OF HERTEL LANE AS EXTENDED FROM WILMOT ROAD TO
CAROL LANE, INCLUDING SIDEWALKS, WATER MAINS,
SANITARY AND STORM SEWERS, IN THE VILLAGE OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That a local improvement shall be made in the
ONE: Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties,
Illinois, the nature, character, locality and
description of which improvement is as follows:
(1) Plain portland cement concrete pavement with
integral curbs from a point approximately 12' westerly
of the center line of Wilmot Road thence westerly along
the center line of Hertel Laneā¢for a distance of 619'
to and connecting with the existing concrete pavement
in Hertel Lane, said point being approximately 107'
easterly of the center line of Carol Lane; said con-
crete pavement shall have 6" uniform thickness and
shall be 27' in width measured back to back of curbs;
(2) portland cement concrete sidewalk along both sides
of Hertel Lane; said sidewalk shall have 4" uniform
thickness and shall be-C' in width except that said
sidewalk shall be 6" in thickness across driveways
leading into abutting lots; (3) storm sewer and
necessary drainage structure from a point approxi-
mately 400' west of the center line of Wilmot Road
to and including connection to existing catch basin
at the northeast corner of Hertel Lane and Carol Lane;
(4) sanitary sewer mains, including manholes and house
services to existing lots, from a point approximately
335' west of the center line of Wilmot Road to and con-
necting to existing sanitary main at a point approxi-
mately 107' east of the center line of Carol Lane; (5)
water mains from a point approximately 20' east of the
center line of Wilmot Road to a point approximately
107' east of the center line of Carol Lane including
house services.

SECTION The recommendation of the Board of Local

and the estimated cost thereof, made by the
President of the Board of Local Improvements both hereto attached
and made a part thereof, be and the same are hereby approved.
SECTION That said improvement shall be made and the
THREE: whole cost thereof, togethet with an amount not
exceeding six percent (6 %) of the estimated
cost, to -wit: ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FORTY -TWO and 10 /100ths
($1,442.10) DOLLARS, which is hereby provided for to apply
towards the cost and expense of making, levying and collecting
the special assessment and all other expenses allowed by law,
being the amount included in the estimate therefor shall be paid
by special assessment levied in accordance with Article 9, Division
2, Chapter 24, of the Illinois Revised Statutes, as amended, being
an Act entitled "Illinois Municipal Code ", approved May 29, 1961,
together with all Amendatory and Supplemental Acts (excepting
Article 9, Division 3).
SECTION That the aggregate amount herein ordered to be
FOUR: assessed to pay the cost of said improvement
against the property and also the assessment on
each lot and parcel of land herein assessed shall be divided into
ten (10) installments in the manner provided by the statute in
such case made and provided and each of said installments shall
bear interest at the rate of six per cent (6b) per annum, according
to law until paid.
SECTION For the purpose of anticipating the collection of
FIVE: the second and succeeding installments of said
assessment for the cost of said improvement, the
Village shall issue bonds payable out of said installments, bearing
interest at the rate of six per cent (6 %) per annum, payable
annually, signed by the President and attested by the Clerk of
said Village under the corporate seal. Said bonds shall be issued
in accordance with, and shall in all respects conform to the
provisions of Article 9, Division 2, Chapter 24, of the Illinois
Revised Statutes, as amended, being an Act entitled "Illinois
Municipal Code ", approved May 29, 1961, together with all Amenda-
tory and Supplemental Acts (excepting Article 9, Division 3).
