AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD JANUARY 13, 1968, IN
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD,
LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION That for the purpose of submitting to the legal
ONE: voters of the Village of Deerfield, Lake and
Cook Counties, Illinois, the question of the
acquisition of certain lands consisting of approximately 130
acres located west of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul &
Pacific Railroad right -of -way and north of County Line Road,
including the real estate commonly known as the Brickyard Pro-
perty, for recreation purposes, and to pay the cost of acquiring
such land, issue bonds of the Village in the amount of $_1,300,000_
bearing interest at a rate not to exceed 6% per annum, as pro-
vided in the Illinois Municipal Code, and all other laws supple-
mentary thereto, there is hereby called a special election to be
held in the Village of Deerfield on the 13th day of January, 1968,
between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6 :00 p.m. of said day at the
several polling places hereafter described in Section Two hereof,
which polling places and precincts are those customarily established
for all municipal elections in said Village.
SECTION That notice of said election shall be published
TWO: in the DEERFIELD REVIEW, a newspaper published
in and having a general circulation in said
Village; said publication to be not more than thirty (30) nor
less than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of said election,
and that said notice shall be in substantially the following
form:

NOTICE OF ELECTION
Public notice is hereby given that on Saturday, the
13th day of January, 1968, a Special Election will be
held in the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties,
Illinois, at which election there will be submitted to the
voters of said Village the following proposition:
"Shall the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties,
Illinois, acquire land described as consisting of approxi-
mately 130 acres located west of the Chicago, Milwaukee,
St. Paul & Pacific Railroad right -of -way and north of
County Line Road,including the real estate commonly
known as the Brickyard Property, for a recreational
center, and to pay the cost of acquiring said land
issue bonds -of said Village to the amount of $-1..300,009
said bonds bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed
six (6 %) percent per annum ?"
The polling places and precincts for such election shall
be as follows:
Precinct No. 1 shall consist of all that part of
the Village lying South of the center line of
Deerfield Road and West of the West Fork of the
North Branch of the Chicago River (West drainage
ditch).
Polling Place: Wilmot School
Wilmot and Deerfield Roads
Deerfield, Illinois
Precinct No. 2 shall consist of all that part of
the Village lying South of the center line of
Deerfield Road and East of the West Fork of the
North Branch of the Chicago River (West drainage
ditch) .
Polling Place: Alan B. Shepard Junior High School
Franken and Grove Streets
Deerfield, Illinois

Precinct No. 3 shall consist of all that part of
the Village lying North of the center line of
Deerfield Road and East of the Chicago, Milwaukee,
St. Paul & Pacific Railroad right -of -way.
Polling Place: Deerfield Village Hall
850 Waukegan Road
Deerfield, Illinois
Precinct No. 4 shall consist of all that part of
the Village lying North of the center line of
Deerfield Road and West of the Chicago, Milwaukee,
St. Paul & Pacific Railroad right -of -way.
Polling Place: Maplewood School
Clay and Alden Courts
Deerfield, Illinois
The polls for said election will be opened at 6 :00 A.M.
and will be closed at 6 :00 P.M., C.S.T. on the date of
said election. All persons qualified to vote at regular
Village elections are qualified to vote on said question.
Voters must vote at the polling place designated for the
election precinct in which they reside.

SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby ordered to
FOUR: have a sample of said ballot published once
in the DEERFIELD REVIEW, the same being a
newspaper published and of general circulation in said Village,
not less than five days prior to the date set for said elec-
tion, and to procure and prepare all necessary election material
for holding and conducting said election under the laws of the
State of Illinois.
SECTION That for said election the following persons
