WHEREAS,.airplanes from the Glenview Naval Air Station have been
observed on numerous occasions flying in close formation and stunting
over the Village of Deerfield and its environs; and
WHEREAS, Lake Michigan and undeveloped areas are nearby where such.
flying can be done with less risk to life and property:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois,
go on record as.opposing close formation and stunt flying over Deerfield
and nearby communities; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of this action be sent to the
Commandant of the Glenview Naval Air Station, Senators Percy and Smith,
Representatives McClory and Crane, and to the officials of nearby
communities.
PASSED this 3rd day of August, A.D. 1970.
