RESOLUTION NO. 2021- R-21-22
A RESOLUTION APPROVING ADDITIONAL EXPENDITURES FOR THE
WOODVALE AVENUE STREET REHABILITATION AND DEERFIELD ROAD
RESURFACING PROJECTS TO BE PAID TO A. LAMP CONCRETE, INC.
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield ("Village') is a home rule municipality in
accordance with Article VII, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970;
and
WHEREAS, on March 3, 2020, the Village, after seeking bids, awarded a contract to
A. Lamp ("Contractor's for the Woodvale Avenue street rehabilitation project ("Woodvale
Avenue Project's in an amount of $1,925,163.00; and
WHEREAS, on May 18, 2020, the Village, after seeking bids, awarded a contract to
Contractor for the Deerfield Road resurfacing project ("Deerfield Road Project's (the
Woodvale Avenue Project and the Deerfield Road Project are, collectively, the "Projects')
in an amount of $1,029,792; and
WHEREAS, due to the unexpected conditions of Woodvale Avenue and Deerfield
Road discovered during the Projects, the Village needs to expend an additional $129,855.50
to complete the Projects ("Additional Expenditure'); and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees have determined that authorizing the
Additional Expenditure to complete the Projects will serve and be in the best interest of the
Village and its residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1: RECITALS. The Village Board hereby adopts the foregoing recitals
as its findings, as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: APPROVAL OF ADDITIONAL EXPENDITURE. The Additional
Expenditure for the Projects is hereby approved.
SECTION 3: AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS. The Mayor and
the Village Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest, on behalf of the
Village, any documents necessary by and between the Village and Contractor to effectuate
and authorize the Additional Expenditure for the Projects.
SECTION 4: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
