R-70-X2R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield have been duly elected by the residents
of the community; and
WHEREAS, the powers and duties of said Mayor and
Board of Trustees are clearly defined by the ;Statutes of
the .State of Illinois and the Municipal Code of Deerfield
of 1963, as amended; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Section 106, of said Municipal
Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1963, as amended, states
that the Mayor of Deerfield shall cast the deciding vote in
cases of ties involving actions of the Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, in an official action of the Mayor and Board
of Trustees, acting in concert under the nom de plume of
"FORREST'S FIREBRANDS" on July 4, 1970, in a team
effort, said Mayor and Board of Trusttees did become involved
in a tie score with a group of residents acting in concert2 under
the nom de plume of IIBAKEMA VAS B U.`SINE;SS B U,SHWACKER ":
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BERNARD FORREST, MAYOR of
the Village of Deerfield, do hereby exercise the power vested in me
and declare FORREST FIREBRANDS the official undisputed winners
of the mounted baseball contest aforementioned.
