AN ORDINANCE ABATING VILLAGE
LIBRARY TAX FOR 1966
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the County Clerk of Lake County and the
ONE: County Clerk of Cook County are hereby authorized
and directed to abate the tax of ONE HUNDRED
TWENTY -TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED ($122,500.00) DOLLARS hitherto
provided for and levied for Village Library purposes in the Ordinance
levying taxes for corporate purposes for the current fiscal year
commencing on the first day of May, 1966, and ending on the 30th
day of April, 1967, for the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook
Counties, Illinois, a copy of which ordinance has heretofore been
duly filed with the County Clerks of said counties.
SECTION That the Village of Deerfield has funds arising
TWO: from sources other than taxation that may be law-
fully used for Village Library purposes during
the fiscal year and, therefore, the tax levied for such purposes
is unnecessary and the said County Clerks are directed to abate and
not to spread said tax.
SECTION That a certified copy of this Ordinance shall be
THREE: filed by the Clerk of this Village with the County
Clerk of Cook County and the County Clerk of Lake
County in apt time to effectuate such tax abatement.
SECTION That in all other respects, except as hereinabove
FOUR: set forth, the tax levy for this Village for the
tax year 1966 shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
FIVE: effect from and after its passage and approval,
as provided by law.

R E S O L U T I O N
RE: Abatement -- 1966 Library Tax Levy
Deerfield Public Library
Deerfield, Illinois
WHEREAS the Board of Library Directors of the Deerfield Public
Library, of Deerfield, Illinois, heretfore determined the amount
of money, which in its judgment, it was necessary to be levied
for library purposes in the 1966 anuual tax levy ordinance by
the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield did,
pursuant to such determination, enact its 1966 annual tax levy
ordinance which included a library tax levy in the amount of
�122250000 for library purposes; and
WHEREAS the said determination and levy was supported-by a
recolution of the Board of Library Directors of West Deerfield
Township coupled with a proposed abatement of the 1966 township
annual library tax levy; and
WHEREAS the said 1966 West Deerfield Township library tax levy
has not been abated, and circumstances beyond the control of
the Township library directors indicates no prospect of such
abatement; and
WHEREAS the Board of Library Directors do not wish to permit
a full 2007 levy upon the residents of the Village of Deerfield;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Library Directors
of the Deerfield Public Library, as. follows:
1. That the amount of 6/22,57L-0 be abated by the Board
of Trustees of-the Village of Deerfield from the
1966 annual library tax levy; and
2. That the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield
are urged to amend their ordinance or take such other
action as is appropriate to abate the 1966 annual li-
brary tax levy as aforesaid; and
3. Thet the Secretary serve a certified copy of this Reso-
lution upon the Village Clerk of the Village of Deerfield
and the Secretary of the Board of Library Directors of
West Deerfield Township; and
4. That the library directors, or any of them appear be-
fore the said Board of Trustees and present this matter
to the said Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield.

West Deerfield Township Library, Deerfield, Illinois.
