ORDINANCE NO. 6
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN ALLEY RUNNING
EAST FROM WOODWARD AVENUE PARALLEL TO
DEERFIELD ROAD IN DEERFIELD, LAKE COUNTY,
ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois, after due investi-
gation and consideration have determined that the nature and
extent of the public use and the public interest to be sub -
served is such as to warrant the vacation of an alley running
East from Woodward Avenue described in the following ordinance,
NOW THEREFORE;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD; LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION I. All that part of the alley beginning at a
point on the Nor hwest corner of Lot 15 in Block 12 in Deerfield
Park Land and Improvement Association Subdivision of the South-
east Quarter of Section 29, Township 43 North, Range 12, East
of the 3rd P. M. according to the plat thereof recorded May 5,
1898, as Document 70392 in Book "D" of Plats, page 64, in Lake
County, Illinois, thence Easterly along a straight line to the
Northeast corner of Lot 20 in Block 12 in said Deerfield Park
Land and Improvement Association Subdivision, thence Northerly
along the West line of Lot 17 in Maplewood Terrace Subdivision
of the Southeast Quarter of Section 29, Township 43 North, Range
12, East of the 3rd P. M., a distance of sixteen (16) feet,
thence Westerly along a straight line to the Southwest corner
of Lot 14 in Block 12 in said Deerfield Park Land and Improve-
ment Association Subdivision, thence Southerly along a straight
line to the place of beginning, situated in the Village of
Deerfield, County of Lake, State of Illinois, as colored in red
and indicated by the words "to be vacated" on the plat hereto
attached, which plat for greater certainty is hereby made a part
of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby vacated and closed
inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and
the public interest will be subserved by said vacation.
SECTION II. The vacation herein provided for is made
upon the express condition that within five (5) days after the
passage of this ordinance, the owners of Lots 14, 15, 16, 17,
ltd, 19 and 20 in Block 12 in Deerfield Park Land and Improvement

Association Subdivision aforesaid shall pay or cause to be
paid in the aggregate to the Village of Deerfield as compen-
sation for the benefits which will accrue to the said owners
of the aforesaid lots abutting on said alley, the total sum
of FIFTEEN AND NO 1100 0,15.00) DOLLARS which sum in the judg-
ment of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Deerfield will be equal to such benefits.
SECTION III. That the alley hereby vacated shall belong
to and b'e the property of the owners of Lots 14, 15, 16, 17,
182 19 and 20 in Block 12 in Deerfield Park Land and Improvement
Association Subdivision aforesaid and the owners of Lot 17 in
Maplewood Terrace Subdivision aforesaid and each of the owners
of Lots 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 in Block 12 in Deerfield Park
Land and Improvement Association Subdivision aforesaid shall be
the owner of the South one -half of that part of the alley lying
directly North of and between the East and West lines of their
respective lots or parcels produced North across said alley and
the owners of Lot 14 in Block 12 in Deerfield Park Land and
Improvement Association Subdivision aforesaid shall be the owners
of the North one -half of the alley lying directly South of said
Lot 14 and between the West line of said Lot 14 produced South
across said alley and the West line of Lot 17 in Maplewood
Terrace Subdivision aforesaid.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage subject to the conditions of
Section II hereof provided that said owners, or any one of them,
shall within thirty (30) days after the passage of this ordinance
file or cause to be filed for record in the office of the
Recorder of Deeds of Lake County, Illinois, a certified copy of
this ordinance.
