Ordinance Relating to Electrical an) Plumbing Contractors
Be it ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield, Illinois, that:
Section 1. Defintion - Registration:
No person shall engage in the business of a plumber or
electrical contractor or contractor employing a plumber or electrician within
the Village without A rst registering with the Building Commissioner of the
Village.
Section 2. Registration Fee:
No fee shall be paid for such registration.
Section 3. Bond:
Before such registration each plumber or electrical con-
tractor or contractor employing a plumber or electrician doing any work in the
municipality or doing any work on the municipal sewer or water system shall ex-
ecute a bond or -indemnity policy running to the Village, with a corporate surety,
in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), conditioned to indemnify and
save the Village harmless from any liability, loss or damage resulting from any
work undertaken or the manner of doing the same discovered within one year after the
work is completed.
Section 4. Regulations:
It shall be the duty of all plumbing or electrical contractors
or contractors employing plumbers or electricians-to comply with all ordinances and
laws relating to the plumbing and electrical codes regulating the activities en-
gaged in.
Section 5. .Revocation:
Any such registration may be revokedbr i ent
for repeated violations of the ordinances and codes relating to plumbing and elec-
trical; such revocation may be by the Village President Aid Board of Trustees.
Section 6. Penalties:
Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of
this ordinance shall be fined not less than $5.00 nor more than $200.00 for each
offense; and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or
on which a violation occurs or continues.
