A RESOLUTION REGARDING
BAXTER LABORATORIES
REZONING REQUEST
WHEREAS, The President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield have considered the Petition of Travenol Laboratories,
Inc., the domestic operating subsidiary of Baxter Laboratories, Inc.,
to rezone certain land lying adjacent of Lake -Cook Road and the tollway
in Lake County, and have considered the relavant factors and the interest
of the Village of Deerfield:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties,
Illinois, as follows:
1. That it is recommended that the rezoning petition of Travenol
Laboratories, Inc... in its present form and as filed, be denied
and we do hereby evidence our objection thereto for the purpose
of requiring a greater than majority vote of the Board of Super-
visors of Lake County in accordance with the applicable Statutes
of the State of Illinois;
2. That in lieu of the request of the present petition, the property
which is the subject matter of the present petition of Travenol
Laboratories, Inc., or the entire tract owned by Travenol
Laboratories Inc., consisting of 181 acres and bounded by
Hawthorne Lane on the north, the tollway on the east, Lake -
Cook Road on the south, and Sanders Road on the west, be
rezoned under the Lake County Zoning Ordinance in the manner
shown on the attached plan, which plan includes (a) .350 foot
parcels of land on the north and south boundaries which will
be zoned office and research, and (b) a parcel of approximately
600 feet on the west boundary which will be zoned office and
research, and (c) limited industrial zoning on the balance of
the tract;
3. That Travenol Laboratories, Inc... also be granted a variation
which will permit the installation and use of no more than two
driveways on each of the three sides of the subject property
to be zoned or classified in the Office and Research District,
none of which driveways shall exceed 60 feet in width; and that
parking be authorized in the three office and research areas
mentioned which may be used to serve the area zoned limited
industrial;
4. That the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Deerfield hereby evidence their support of the amended or

new petition or petitions which may be filed by Travenol
Laboratories, Inc., and which would be in accordance
with the foregoing recommendations.
5. That the Village Clerk be and is hereby directed to file
a certified copy of this resolution with the Lake County
Board of Zoning .Appeals, the Board of Supervisors of
Lake County, and the County Clerk of Lake County on
or before May 27, 1968.
