R-68-20RESOLUTION NO. R -68 -20 WHEREAS, Shell Oil Company has filed a petition with the Zoning Board of Appeals of Lake County, requesting a Conditional Use Permit for the con- struction and operation of a drive -in theatre on property located at the Southeast corner of Routes 43 and 22; and WHEREAS, a drive -in theatre would greatly increase traffic in the area, with lighting and noise attendant with such a facility; and WHEREAS, the proposed use is not compatible with the development of the area, which is primarily residential; and WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield, as well as nearby municipalities, School Boards, and conservation groups, have requested that the subject property and adjacent acreage be acquired by the Lake County Forest Preserve District for a nature study area and open space in the rapidly growing South- east section of Lake County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois, that -this Board go on record as opposing the granting of a Conditional Use Permit for a drive -in theatre as requested by Shell Oil Company; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Resolution be filed with the Board of Zoning Appeals, the County Clerk of Lake County, and the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Lake County.
