RESOLUTION NO. R-17-13
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE
ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION(IDOT) FOR FUNDING
UNDER THE 2018 ILLINOIS TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT
PROGRAM (ITEP)
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield is a municipality in accordance with the Constitution
of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield supports the Illinois Transportation
Enhancement Program (ITEP) that provides and supports alternative modes of
transportation, enhances the transportation system through preservation of visual and
cultural resources, and improves the quality of life for members of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Village Staff, under the direction of the Mayor and Board of Trustees,
has prepared an application for submission to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
for consideration under the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP); and
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield has made it public knowledge for this effort and
has gained public support for its 2018 ITEP application - as the public has been allowed the
opportunity to become directly involved in this transportation program; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield is the local sponsor (and Applicant) for the eligible
ITEP project entitled: Deerfield - Lake Cook Road Landscaping Median Enhancement (Wilmot
Road to Pine Street); and
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield will utilize its options for a match of up to 20% for
ITEP program eligible items -as are supported by this municipal administration; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Village of Deerfield (upon approval
of this application, execution of all documents, and upon notice to proceed from the
IDOT/ITEP program); the Village of Deerfield will proceed with project implementation
according to IDOT/ITEP program guidelines:
Section 1: The Village of Deerfield fully supports the submission of one (1)
project (previously identified) to IDOT for consideration under the
ITEPprogram.
Section 2: The Village of Deerfield commits to providing the necessary funds to
complete this project should it be approved - understanding this is a
reimbursement program which provides up to 80% for construction
and engineering costs.
Section 3: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from (and after) its
passage, approval, and publication - as provided by law.
SECTION 4: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval as provided by law.
