AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1963, AS AMENDED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 20.714 of Article VII of Chapter'20
ONE: of the Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield
of 1963, as amended, is hereby further amended by
striking said section in its entirety,and substituting in lieu thereof
the following:
20.714 Spilling loads and depositing foreign matter.) No person
shall drive or move any truck or other vehicle within the munici-
pality unless such vehicle is so constructed or loaded as to prevent
any load contents or litter from being blown or deposited on any
street, alley or other public place in the municipality; nor shall
any person drive or move any vehicle or truck within the municipal=
ity the wheels or tires or any other portion,of which carry onto
or deposit in any street, alley or other place in the municipality,
mud, dirt, sticky substance, litter or'foreign matter of any kind.
SECTION That Article III of Chapter 20 of the Municipal
TWO: Code _of the Village of Deerfield.of 1963, as amended,
is hereby further amended by adding thereto the
following new Sections 20.342 and 20.343 at the end thereof:
20.342 Following too closely.) it shall be unlawful for a driver
of a motor vehicle to follow another vehicle more closely than is
reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such
vehicles, and the traffic upon and'condi.tion of such highway.
20.343 Drag racing.) (a) .:,l:t shall be unlawful for any person
who is an operator of a motor vehilce to be a participant in a
dragnrace.
(b) For the purpose of this section, "drag race" means the act
of two or more individuals competing or racing on any.street or
highway.in this Village in a situation in which one of the motor
vehicles is beside or to the rear of a motor vehicle operated by
a competing driver and the one driver attempts to prevent the
competing driver from passing or overtaking him.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and

publication, as provided by law.
