Salary Amendment
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield, that:
Ordinance #?200, entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLASSIFYING AND GRADING
POSITIONS IN THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD AND ESTABLISHING CORRESPONDING
SALARY RANGES TO BE PAID THESE POSITIONS" is hereby amended as follows:
1. Section III of the said ordinance is amended to read as follows:
"III c Increases:- Increases within a salary range shall be made on the
basis of merit and service. All salaries shall be reviewed annually at the
beginning of each fiscal year and increases may be authorized. The Village
Manager shall;ihave the authority to effectuate increases within the
established salary range and at the steps provided, as shown on the
attached schedule and made a part of this ordinance.
2. Section VII of the said ordinance is amended to read as follows:
"VII - SALARIES, Ungraded and Unclassified: The annual salaries of the
following ungraded? and unclassified positions shall be as follows:
Village Manager $12,390 plus house $2,100
Chief of Police 10,500
Supt. of Inspections, Bldg._ Comm. 9,975
Treasurer, Finance Director 7,875
Supt. of Public Works 8,925
Village Clerk 1;200
Fire Marshals 3.15 per hour
Casual Labor 1.79 to 3.15 per hour
Crossing Guards. 1.58 per hour
Matron 5.25 per hour
(Minimum $10.50)
Municipal Justice 2,325 (eight months)
3• Evidence has been presented to the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
need for a complete review of all Village job classifications. It is on
this basis that the above interim cost of living adjustment is made effective
from December 1, 1963 to April 30, 1964.
The Manager and Department Heads are to conduct an immediate study of
salaries, fringe benefits, and other related work conditions in the communities
surrounding Deerfield. This study and proposals resulting therefrom are to be
within the framework of the existing Deerfield pay plan and policy and are to
take effect with the beginning of the next fiscal year.
4. This Ordinance shall be effective December 1, 1963.
