R-67-09RESOLUTION NO. R -67- 9 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the orderly development of territory adjacent to a municipality that the municipality has control over the character of development of said adjacent territory; and WHEREAS, the annexation of such adjacent territory to the municipality should be encouraged in order that municipal services may be provided on a fair and equitable basis in the interests of public health and safety; and WHEREAS, House Bills Numbers 15 and 16 provide that municipalities which have adopted comprehensive zoning and planning ordinances may exercise exclusive zoning jurisdiction within an area one and one -half miles beyond their corporate limits. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Conk Counties, Illinois, that the Village of Deerfield-approves and supports House Bills Numbers 15 and 16; and BE IT FURTHER RESO ED that the County and Township Affairs Committee be respectfully request report favorably on said Bills, and the House of Representatives and Senate of the.75th Illinois General Assembly enact said Bills in order to promote the general welfare and orderly development of municipalities.
