BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Truitees of the Village
of Deerfield, that:
The Village of Deerfield Subdivision Improvements Standards Ordinance
known as Ordinance #154 be and the.same is hereby amended as follows:
Section 1 of the said ordinance is amended by the addition of a section
to be known as 1.8 to read as,follows:
"1.8 STREET SIGNS. Street signs shall be installed at all intersections
within the Subdivision, in accordance with the standards and requirements
established by the Board of Trustees."
Section 2.1 of the said ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows:
112.1 STREETS. For the puaposes of design, streets will be divided into
three categories. Major streets as set forth in the Village Plan will require
a right of way of 80 ft., a pavement width of 37 ft., back to back of curbs,
and a pavement of 8 in. Portland Cement Concrete. Secondary streets as set
forth in the Village Plan will require a right of way of 80 ft., a pavement
width of 35 ft., back to back of curbs, and a pavement consisting of an 8 in.
waterbound Macadam base or an approved equal rigid base, and a 2 in. Class B,
Subclass B -5 (Modified Plant Mix) Bituminous surface, dense - graded aggregate
type, including construction of:-Seal Coat. All other streets will require a
right of way of 60 ft., a pavement width of 27 ft., back to back of curbs,
and a pavement consisting of an 8 in. waterbound Macadam base, or an approved
equal rigid base, and a 2 in. Class B, Subclass B -5 (Modified Plant Mix)
Bituminous surface, dense - graded aggregate type, including construction of
Seal Coat. In all cases, the materials used and the method of construction
shall be in compliance with the specifications approved by the Division of
Highways, State of Illinoi-,s, for the type of pavement designated. Sub base
requirements for all streets shall be a Westgard soil value of 100 or better.
The maximum allowable grade for streets shall be ten per cent, and the minimum
allowable grade for streets shall be two tenths of one per cent. The minimum
allowable radius at an intersection shali be 20 ft. Provided that this
Section shall not reduce the requirements of Cook County Zoning with reference
to Cook -Lake (County Line) Road."
Section 2.3 of the said ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows:
" 2.3 SIDEWALKS. Sidewalks shall be of Portland Cement Concrete as specified
below and shall be four inches thick on a five inch sand or cinder base.
Sidewalks shall be wither five ffet wide and located one foot ourside the
property line or shall be four feet or three feet wide carriage walks located
adjacent to the curb. Major streets shall have sidewalks of five feet width.
Secondary streets shall have sidewalks or carriage walks four feet wide. All
other streets shall have carriage walks three feet wide. Concrete sidewalks
shall be constructed in accordance with, and the materials used shall be in
compliance with the methods and materials required in Section 89, Standard
Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, published by the Division ,
of Highways, State of Illinois."
Section 2.6 of the said ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows:
112.6 SANITARY SEWERS. Sanitary sewers of not less than eight inches (811)
diameter and minimum four foot lengths shall be provided along the frontage
of all lots in such a manner as to adequately serve all lots and tracts with
a connection•to the system. Sanitary sewers are to designed on the basis of
a flow of 1100 gallons per day per lot served and an infiltration of 10 gallons

per day per foot. In no case should infiltc -ation exceed 1,500 gallons per
day per mile of sewer per inch of pipe diameter. The'sewers will be designed
in such a way as to insure a minimum ve3.ocity of flow of two feet per second
and a maximum velocity of flow of eight feet per second. Pipe will be laid
with the bell end upstream and will be provided with Polyvinyl Chloride or
flexible Polyester Resin joints. Supporting strengths of clay pipe shall be
those shown in the Clay Pipe Engineering Manual and not be exceeded in loading.
Manholes will be provided.at all changes in direction or pipe size and in no
case farther than 300 feet apart. Manholes will be of the type specified in the
State of Illinois Standard 1527 -5, Type "A ". Drop manholes will be required
where invert elevations differ by more than 2 ft. 6 in. and will be of the
type "D" Village of Deerfield Standards. Sanitary sewers will be located 'i;n
the parkway on the south or east side of the street. Materials will meet the
specifications of vitrified clay pipe AS.T.M. C -13 or C- 200."
Section 3 of the said ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows:

"SECTION 3. MATERIALS FOR STORM SEWERS.
Standard Strength Clay Sewer Pipe. AS.T.M. C 13 as revised.
Extra Strength Clay Pipe. AS.T.M. C 200 as revised.
Concrete Sewer Pipe. AS.T.M. C 14 as revised.
Concrete Masonry. AS.T.M. C 139 as revised.
Building Brick. AS.T.M. C -62 Grade SW as revised.
Concrete Building Brick. AS.T.M. C -55 Grade A as revised.
Cast Iron Water Wipe. ASA - A .21.2 Class 150.
Cast Iron Sewer Pipe. ASA - A ".21'.2.Class300.
Frames and Grates. State of Illinois, Tape 1."
Section 6.3 of the said ordinance is hereby amended to read as follows:
116.3 INSPECTION FEES. During the course of construction at such times as the
Village Manager deems necessary, the subdivider will pay the actual cost of
inspection up to and inclduing the date of billing. This fee shall be determined
as to the actual Best to the Village of inspectors, engineers, and other
necessary parties to insure satisfactory work; and the cost shall be based upon
a reasohable charge for the services rendered, to be determined by agreement
between the developer and,the village."
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
