AN ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO TAX LEVIES FOR 0 /-s
STREET AND BRIDGE PURPOSES
WHEREAS, pursuant to the statutes of the State of Illinois, the
Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois, is
authorized to levy for the said Village a tax for street and brige purposes
at a rate not to exceed .06% of the full fair cash value as equalized or
assessed by the Department of Revenue, and the said Board of Trustees may,
by a three - fourths vote of the Trustees, levy an additional tax for street
and brige purposes at a rate of not to exceed .04166 per cent of the full

M fair cash value as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue, of

taxable property within the Village of Deerfield, and it is deemed to the best
interests of the Village that the - necessary action be taken to levy the
additional tax for street -and bridge:purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
SECTION 1. That it is the opinion of three - fourths of the Trustees
of the Village of Deerfield that a greater levy than .06% of the full fair
cash value as equalized or assessed by the Department of Revenue of taxable
property in the Village of Deerfield for street and bridge purposes is
needed for the fiscal.. year beginning May 1, 1956 and ending April 30, 1957.
SECTION 2. That it is further the opinion of three - fourths of the
said Trustees that an additional levy is needed to be made and should be made
so it is provided that an additional tax be levied for street and bridge pur-
poses of .04166 per cent of the full fair cash value as equalized or assessed
by the Department of Revenue of the tazable property within the said Village
of Deerfield in addition to the levy of .06% of the full fair cash value as
equalized or assessed by the Department of "evenue of taxable property within
the said Village of Deerfield.
SECTION 3. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to file with the
County Clerk of Lake County, Illinois, on or before the second Tuesday of
September, 1956, a copy of this Ordinance duly certified by said Clerk.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its approval.

WHEREAS the owners of all property abutting on the alley herein-
after described have requested that the said alley be vacated, and
WHEREAS it is to the best interests of the citizens of Deerfield
that the said alley be vacated:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois, that:
The alley runhing in a north and south direction, running south
from Hazel Avenue between Joura l Place and Springfield Avenue - extended
to Jewett Park be and the same is hereby vacated; provided, however, that
the Village retains the right to maintain, operate, replace and repair
any mains, wires or other utilities lying in the said area, either
through itself or by any licensee or franchise holder holding from the
Village the right to maintain, operate, replace or repair any such
utility facilities in such area.
