AN ORDINANCE CLASSIFYING AND GRADING
POSITIONS IN THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
AND ESTABLISHING CORRESPONDING SALARY
RANGES TO BE PAID THESE POSITIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRU59iEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
DEERFIELD, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THAT:
Section I. Positions Established: All offices and employments of the
Village of Deerfield except those of Village Manager, Village Engineer,
Superintendent of Public Works, Deputy Collector - Treasurer, Collector,
Treasurer, gillagb-Clerk, Secretary to the Village Board, Police Chief,
President and Trustees, shall be classified and graded as follows, and are
herewith made positions of .employment within the Village service of the
Village of Deerfield.

Section II. Salary Ranges: The salary ranges
as set forth in schedules
A, B, and C, attached to and hereby made a part
Of this ordinance, shall
be the ranges of salaries to be paid positions
of employment in the Village
of Deerfield and the ranges are hereby assigned
to the positions of employ-
ment as set forth in Section I.
Section III. Increases: Increases within a salary
range shall be made on
the basis of merit and service. The first increase
shall be made at the

Section IV. Full Time Compensation: The salaries established by this
ordinance are gross compensation for flzll time employment. Temporary
or part -time personnel shall be paid on an hourly basis. Such hourly ;
rate to be determined by dividing the annual salary by the usual number
of hours worked each week by that class of employee multiplied by 52.
Hourly rates shall be corrected to the next lowest one cent. Salaries
contained in the schedule do not include expenses or uniform allowances.
Section V. Amendments: The Village Board may from time to time amend
the salary ranges, and the designation of positions to ranges upon the
recommendation of the Village Manager.
Section VI. Appointments: Appointments and reappointments to positions
classified above shall normally be made at the salary fixed in Range "A"
for the a pplicable Range Grade. The Village Manager, may, however, make
an exception based upoh.the appointees character, ability, experience, or
service *Ath the City.
Section VII. Salaries Ungraded and Unclassified Positions: Ihe annual
salaries for the following unclassified positions shall be as follows:

All rates of pay shall be computed on the basis of 24 pay periods per year.
Section VIII. Personnel Rules. The Village Manage r shall make, or cause
to be made, comprehensive rules for the administration of the salary plan,
and conduct of personnel employed by 'the :pillage, for adoption by the Village
Board.
Section IX. Effective Date: The effective date of the resulting salary
increases shall be May 1, 1956.

BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield that:
It shall be unlawful to drive any vehicle on Woodruff Avenue
into or across its intersection with Greenwood Avenue without
bringing such vehicle to a full stop at the intersection.
Any person, firm or corporation violating this ordinance shall
be fined not less than FIVE DOLLARS ($5.00) nor more than ONE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($100.00) for each offense:
