AN ORDINANCE VACATING THE EAST AND GUEST
ALLEY IN THE BLOCK BOUNDED BY DEERFIELD
AVENUE, WOODWARD AVENUE, DIVISION STREET
AND POTOMAC AVENUE AND THAT PORTION OF
POTOMAC AVENUE LYING SOUTHERLY OF THE
POINT OF INTERSECTION 0%' SAID POTOMAC
AVENUE AND THE RIGHT -OF -RAY OF THE UNION
DRAINAGE DITCH, IN THE VILLAGE OF DEER -
FIELD, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, on the plat of subdivision of Deerfield Park
Land and Improvement Association subdivision in the Village
of Deerfield, Illinois, as recorded in the Recorder's Office
of Lake County, Illinois, there appears a public alley
running east and west in the block bounded by DEERFIEM
AVENUE, WOODWARD AVENUE, DIVISION STREET AND POTOMAC
AVENUE; and
WHEREAS, on the plat of subdivision of the said Deer-
field Park Land and Improvement Association subdivision
and on the plat of subdivision of Re -.plat of parts of Blocks
10 and 11 in Deerfield Park Land and Improvement Association
subdivision as recorded in the Recorder's Office of Lake County,
Illinois, there appears POTOMAC AVENUE, having a width of 33 ft.
running northerly at right angles to said Deerfield Road; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois, have determined that the
public interest will be subserved by vacating the above described
alley and by vacating that portion of said Potomac Avenue lying
southerly of the point of intersection of said Potomac Avenue
and the said Union Drainage Ditch by reason of the fact that
the Village of Deerfield will be relieved from the burden
and responsibility of maintaining said alley and said portion
of Potomac Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the vacation and closing of said alley and said
portion of said street will not damage any other property in
the Village of Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois, and the
abutting property owners.have petitioned the said Village to
vacate the said alley and the said portion of said street;
Now Therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BO.,=�RD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
Section 1: That the alley described as
the east and west alley in the block
bounded by DEERFIELD ROAD, DIVISION
STREET, WOODWARD AVENUE AND POTOMAC
AVENUE IN THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD,
LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS
be, and the same is hereby vacated, subject to any and all
rights, privileges, easements and rights -of -way for existing
public utilities.
Section 2: That the portion of Potomac Avenue described
as follows:
that part.of Potomac Avenue which lies
southerly.of the point of intersection
of Potomac Avenue and Union Drainage
Ditch in Deerfield, Lake County,
Illinois
be', and the same is hereby vacated, subject to any and all
rights, privileges, easements and rights -of -way for existing
public utilities.
Section 3 :. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed,
and this ordinance shgll be in full .force and effect im-
mediately and forthwith upon its passage.

Section 4: That the Clerk of the Village of Deerfield,
Lake County, Illinois, be authorized and directed to file a
certified copy of this ordinance in the Recorder's Office
of Lake County, Illinoisg.
