FRANKLIN 3827
The proposed original copy of the levy ordinance for
the year 1947 -48 is enclosed. I am sending; a duplicate.
copy of this ordinance to Chester Wes ing, the Village
Clerk, to which a certification is a ached so that
when the ordinance is passed, he ca ertify to the
same and let me have the cer i y f r filing
with the County.. Clerk as 3,a---ui the statute.
This proposed ordinen a pro es ford total levy of
#17,348.75, cad f a Is for.bonded indebtedness
of 9"4,846.75, c g r s we received from Mr. Turner,
and then a to gen r 1 x levy of 412,500.00. This
iv mor a lev e a ear ago.
This igure as arrived at on the basis of amend-
ment nd i erpretations of the so- called 'Butler Bills.v
The r hich is to be-used for all municipalities
outside Cook County is complicated but is arrived at'
by dividing the 1945 tax extension, which in your case
was the sum of 14426..86. cby the 1946 full fair cash value
as determined by the Department of Revenue which, if we
are correct in your case,, is the equalized figure for
1946 of X6,657,443.00, This results in a factor of
$.001566 and which must be used now for several years.
The next step is to multiply the current full fair cash
value, as determined by the Department of Revenue, by
this factor and then increase the result by 5. There
is no way to get the current year's full cash value as
determined by the Department of Revenue because in most
instances, the various township assessors are only just
now finishing their work on the tax books and it will be
several months before these figures can be considered
and equalized by the Department of Revenue.
