Jantary 12, 1937.
A regular meeting of the President and the Board of
Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called.to order
by the President Harry E. Wing at 7:30.P. M. with the
following Trustees present; Palmer, Peterson and Willman.
Absent- Trustee, McKillip, Pottenger and Scribner.
. The minutes of the regular meeting held December 8,
.1936 were read and approved.
A five year contract for Street Lighting; was presented
by -the Public Service.Co. and this was referred to the
Corporation Counsel McGaughey for his approval as to form.
A report from the Treasurer George J Page regarding
the finances of the Village and more especially with
reference to the General Fund Account was reEd by the
President.Wing and it was moved, seconded and carried that
the same be accepted.
A letter from Charles C. Kapschull regarding the con-
, dition of West Deerfield Avenue at Pine Street during
severe rain storms was read and referred to the Corporation
.Counsel.
PLAT OF GOLDHAtd' S NORTH SHORE GOLF LINKS SUBDIVISI01?.
Mr, Alexander Taylor, Chairman of the Zoning Board re-
ported that the members of this Board, with the exception
of Fred Lab ahn, met for the purpose of considering the Pro-
posed Plat of Goldman's North Shore Golf Links Subdivision
and unanimously approved the Proposed County Clerk Piet
as.presented by the Illinois Real Estate Improvement Corpo-
ration with certain restrictions which are made.a part of
this plat.
Motion made by Trustee Peterson and seconded by Trustee
Willman that the Plat of Goldman's North Shore Golf Links
Subdivision be accepted as recommended by the Zoning Board
,of'the Village of Deerfield with certain restrictions which
,are a part of this plat and shall be so recorded at the
County Clerk's office.
y Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye" being
Trustee Palmer, Peterson, Willman and the President of the
Board Harry E. Wing. Those voting "Nay" being None.
A letter from the Village Collector, advising the
Board that Joseph E. Boehm, 3511 Seminary -Ave., Chicago,
Ill. owns the 'lest z of Lot 26 in Goldman's North Shore
. Golf Links Subdivision and that on October 26, 1931 he
remitted $21.56 to pay -the 5th installment and interest,
. Warrant #34, whereas the- installment and interest was only
X10.33.- The overpayment is large enough to takecare of the
. 10th installment and interest on this lot and still leaves
-a balance of $3.06 which she-requests the Board approve for
refu4d�to Mr. Boehm from -the Treasurer's Account.
-Moved-by Trustee -- Palmer and seconded by Trustee Peter-
son that a ,refund in-the amount of $3.06 be made to Mr.
Joseph-E,--Boehm from the Treasurer's Account.
-Upon- roll -call - the following vote was taken. yeas --
Trustee Palmer.-Peterson, Willman and President Wing. Nays-
None. Motion carried.
-BID-FOR REMOVING 17ATER TOWER RECEIVED.
Mr. -E. M. Zahnle, Highland Park, i11., submitted a bid
in the amount of $260.00 and salvage for removing water tank
located on-Deerfield Grammar School property and this bid
includes the .furnishing of a.$5000.00 bond. This bid will-
be taken into consideration at a later date.
A letter from Mr..E. A. Flood addressed to the board in
regard to a refund on Special Assessment Tarrant 50 was

referred to Corporation Counsel McGaughey. �n
A resolution requesting permission from Department of C
Public morks and Buildings, Division of Highways to tunnel
under the pavement in E. Deerfield Road, approximately 80
feet-West of Brierhill Road for the purpose of repairing a
leaking watermain, was read and on motion made, duly seconded
and carried it was adopted.
A motion was made by Trustee ►7illaa.n and seconded by
Trustee Peterson that we pay the Reliable Garage an addi-
tional $11.00 per month for storage of snowplow. .

Peterson, Millman and.President tiling. Nays- None. Motion
carried.
A letter was read from the Illinois Division of High-
ways, Springfield, Illinois, relative to resolution appro-
priating.$500.00;for maintenance of Arterial Street #2
which amount was to be transferred from funds in the Art-
erial Street #3 Fund. However due to an oversight an add-
tional $500.00 has been vouchered and they do not feel it
worthwhile to cancel the.warrant. A motion was made, sec-
onded and unanimously carried that the 0500.00 be accepted
and deposited to the credit.of the Arterial Street #2 Fund.
The next item of business was the reading of the new
lease for the rental of offices, fire station and meter
repair.room for the term of five years.
President Wing being a member of the Board of Trustees
of the Deerfield Temple Association, stated that he did not
wish to act as Chairman in this.matter and therefor a motion
was made by Trustee Peterson and seconded by Trustee Palmer
that Trustee Willman act as 8hairman pro tem.' Lotion carried.
FIVE YEAR LEASE FOR VILLAGE OFFICES! ETC. ACCEPTED.
It was moved by Trustee Peterson and seconded by Trustee
Palmer that the Acting President be authorized to sign an
agreement to lease from the Deerfield Temple.Association for
the term of five years from January 2, 1937 to January 1, 1942
the property as described in said lease and that the same be
attested to by the Village Clerk:
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas - Trustee Palmer,
Peterson, President Wing and Acting President Willman.- Nays -
None. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Palmer and seconded by Trus-
tee Willman that the watermain intake and outlet at the pump
house be protected from freezing.
Motion unanimously carried. Those voting "Aye', being
Trustee Palmer, Peterson, Willman and President Wing. Those
voting '"Nay being None.
Moved by Trustee Willman and seconded by Trustee Peterson
that the following bills be approved for payment on receipt of
proper funds.
