sition- "Shall there .be levied for .a period of four years
eighty -seven and.one -half (.87J) hundredths of one percentum
for general corporate purposes, exclusive of the amount levied
for payment' of bonded indebtedness _or interest thereon and ex-
elusive of 'taxes ,authorized by _acts whicta by their terms pro-

A motion was made.by Trustee Peterson and duly seconded

The regular meeting of the President 'and the Board of
Trustees of the Village of Deerfield vas called to order by
the President C. M. Willman at 8 P. H. with the following
trustees respondiog to the roll call; Hertel, Palmer,
Peterson, Pottenger, Schneider and Stupple. Absent - None.
p The minutes of the April 11, 1939 and the special meeting
of 'April 20, 1939 were read and approved.
l- The auditor's report for the fiscal year ended April 201
1939 was read and it was moved by Trustee Stupple and seconded
by Trustee Schneider that the same be received.
Roll call resulted as follows. Yeas- Trustee Hertel,
Palmer, Peterson, Pottenger, Schneider and Stupple. Nays- None.
Motion carried.
I' Corporation Counsel McGaughey stated that according to his
finding,.the Singer Printing and Publishing-Co. bill in the
amount of $140.00 for the pri#ting of delinquent special
assessments is in order and should be approved for payment.
The following bills were read and a motion was made by
Trustee Schneider and seconded by Trustee Stupple that these
bills be approved for payment on receipt of proper funds.
Upon roll call the following vote was taken. Yeas -
Trustee Hertel, Peterson,'Pottenger, Schneider and Stupple.
Trustee Palmer, not voting.. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Trustee Schneider and seconded by
Trustee Stupple that the bill of James Anderson Co. in the
amount of $1012.42 on account of work done in connection with
..the Sewage Disposal Project, having been compromised for the
sum-of $400.00 and that this is payment in full on resolution
passed by the'President and the Board of Trustees at the
meeting held July 9, 1935 and it is further understood that
the plans for this project known as .-PWA Docket No. Ill. 1633 -F
are available to the Village of Deerfield-from James Anderson
Company. .
Motion carried. Those voting "Aye" being
Trustee Hertel, Peterson, Pottenger, Schneider and Stupple.
Trustee Palmer- Not voting.
A motion was made by Trustee Peterson,:;.sdconded by
Trustee Hertel and duly carried -to adjourn sine die.
The newly elected Trustees, Homer-G.-Cazel, Jirah D.
Cole, Edward B. Crush and Police Magistrate Daniel S. Hunt
were sworn in by the Village Clerk.
The roll of the new Board was called and the following
responded; Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer, Pottenger and
Schneider. Absent- None.
The President Q. M. Willman having read his appointments
of the various committees for the ensuing year, a motion was
made by Trustee Cazel and-seconded by Trustee Palmer that the
President call a special meeting for-Monday evening, May 15,
1939 for the committee appointments.
Roll call resulted as follows. Those voting "Aye" being
'Trustee Cazel, Cole, Crush, Palmer and Pottenger. Those voting
"Nay" being Trustee Schneider. Motion carried.

Vernon Giss. After considerable discussion the motion was
withdrawn.
A reolution was read to= appoint Milton Olson as Village
Attorney to succeed George S. McGaughey; C. J. Turner to suc-
ceed George J. Page as Village Treasurer and Dr. C. Johnston
Davis to succeed himself as Health Officer.
Trustee Crush made a motion that the resolution be passed
as read and this was duly seconded by Trustee Cole. The President
being requested to call the roll on the-adoption of the resolution
